Our values

We call in, not call out.

We appreciate that conversations about oppressive systems and structures can be confronting and uncomfortable. We’re not here to shame or admonish. We’re here to facilitate your learning and create a safe learning environment to engage in ethical dialogue, educate and empower.

We pay the rent.

We acknowledge that we run our workshops on stolen land. As part of our support for Indigenous sovereignty we offer scholarships to First Nations community members.

We elevate under-represented experiences.

We advocate for visible representation of underrepresented communities and experiences. That’s why we work with facilitators, educators, and creatives of diverse backgrounds and identities.

We find strength in diversity.

We believe the best learning happens when we bring people with diverse experiences together. That’s why we offer scholarships and discounts to Asylum Seekers,  Refugees, and those experiencing financial hardship.

We acknowledge privilege.

We see identities as multiple and intersecting. For us, privilege doesn’t negate hardship or hard work. It is however a by-product of complex power structures which we endeavour to unpack. We equip individuals with information to leverage their privilege(s) for social good.

We believe social justice includes environmental justice.

We endeavour to use sustainable products and vendors at our events. We reduce the use of plastic where possible, compost food scraps, and promote environmental sustainable practices by example.
